Man behind 'Smiling Bob' to be sentenced in Ohio

CINCINNATI (AP) -- A man convicted of defrauding customers seeking male sexual enhancement supplements and other herbal remedies is due in federal court in Cincinnati for sentencing.

Steve Warshak is founder and president of Berkeley Premium Nutraceuticals, which distributes various products alleged to boost energy, manage weight, reduce memory loss and aid sleep.

The company's main product, Enzyte, promises sexual enhancement. Ads feature "Smiling Bob," with an exaggerated smile.

Warshak was convicted in February of bank fraud, money laundering and conspiracy to commit mail fraud. At his Wednesday sentencing, he faces more than 20 years in prison and possible forfeiture of cash, homes and cars.

Federal prosecutors say he bilked customers out of $100 million through deceptive ads, manipulated credit card transactions, and refused to accept returns or cancel orders.
