Ansted had integrity to be judge
To the editor:
I am writing this letter in support of Barbara Ansted. Barbara, as you know, has a sincere desire to be Sandusky County's next Common Pleas Court Judge.
In having known Barbara for the past 30 years, it is my belief that this position, to Barbara, is not about the position, status, or even personal gratification. It is about being what this county and its people need from a judge in this position. I think that should be obvious to all of us. After the tragic and sudden death of both her husband Bill and her daughter Allison I wondered what her decision would be in continuing to seek election for this seat. I was not surprised, but was impressed, when she called me and said she had decided to continue. For me that speaks to the integrity of an individual, when you loose so much that you love and treasure in life and still have a desire to serve in such a public way.
My association with Barbara started with her husband Bill. Bill and I worked together for about 22 years, until 2000, at Green Bay Packaging. Bill himself was a man of great integrity, full of life, and always putting others first. Bill and Barbara have both understood that the quality of life that an individual has is in direct proportion to your service to others and they have been tremendous examples of that. I believe, in part, this is what has made Barbara a success and will allow this county to reap some of the rewards of that success through her service.
Barbara is a very dedicated person. That has been obvious over the years. I believe that she will contribute greatly to the safety and well being of our communities through this position in the court.
I urge you to strongly consider a yes vote for Barbara Ansted. I also strongly urge you to make your decision based on the facts that will help in making an intelligent decision. Barbara's background and qualifications can be found on her website at www.anstedforjudge.com.
