Former Thompson
Class of 1942 has
summer reunion
The dog days of summer brought the former Thompson High School's Class of 1942 together on Wednesday, Aug. 13, for their yearly class reunion get together at Norwalk Memorial Home for their 66th anniversary.
At noon, classmates assembled in the Memorial Home cafeteria with Marguerite Setchel giving the dinner prayer along with a moment of silence in memory of deceased classmates and for those unable to be present. After enjoying the luncheon, members assembled to the TV social room where pictures were taken and members looked at previous pictures and a scrapbook which included previous write-ups, pictures and obituaries. There was lots of reminiscing, laughter and jokes recalling high school days, including school plays, musical programs, debate teams and other activities.
Regrets were received from a few classmates unable to join us that day.
The day closed with plans for our 67th reunion at the same location, with date to be announced later.
Those attending were Mary (Meisner) Culbertson, Green Springs; Marguerite (Zechman) Setchel, Norwalk; Marjorie (Kutz) Naftzgar, Valley City; Jackie Naftzgar, Homerville; Jack and Alice Evert, Vickery; Carl and Bernadine (Clapp) Riegel, Clyde; Gertrude (Henny) Hammersmith, Bellevue; and Edna Schreiner, Marywood.
