Schoens celebrate 50 years
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Schoen, 14080 E. Co. Rd. 34, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Aug. 16, when they were treated to a surprise party for over 200 guests at the Bellevue VFW Hall by their children and grandchildren.
Mr. Schoen and the former Charlene Radish were married Aug. 16, 1958, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Bellevue, by the Rev. Albert Bishop. They were attended by Helen Schoen Griffin as maid of honor, Madelyn Meyer Brotzki, Joanne Pfenning Burns and Susan Schoen as flower girl, and by Franklin Schoen, Louis Hoyles and Bob Pfenning.
They are parents of three children, Scott (Vicki) Schoen, Jami (Steve) Hill and Jon (Sue) Schoen, all of Bellevue; and have seven grandchildren.
Mr. Schoen is retired from Norfolk Southern Railway, where he was a clerk. Mrs. Schoen is a retired secretary from Dr. Robert Coll's office.
