(Photo by John Lasko) The Penn State Nittnay Lions finished the season a perfect 7-0 and a championship in the Amherst Youth Football Association's first seasonÊof flag football. Penn State won the championship game 13-7 over the Iowa Hawkeyes, in a tough fought battle.Ê Members of Penn State include running backs: Joey Tomaro and Jack Laslo, quarterback Russell Hellinger, receivers Dillon Pinkerton and Josh Qualls, lineman Christan Velez, Josh Croston, Vinny Dellipoala, Myles Reed and Ryan Lavish. Officer Josh McCoy was sworn in by the Amherst Police Department as their new full-time police officer. He used to work full-time for the Lorain Police Department. He has worked as a part-time officer in Amherst back in 2005, as well as the Wellington Police Department and as an officer for Community Health Partners in Lorain.
