Chow down, boys!

A team of six Clyde High School students devoured a Subway 3-foot party sub in 5 minutes, according to local restaurant manager Kim Collins.

While the contest has been held at past Clyde Country Fairs, she said it was the first year the event was timed, because it went so quickly.

This year, the seven participating teams were permitted to have between four and six team members. Most of the teams including a Fliers Cross Country team and a varsity football team entry had the maximum number of eaters.

Winning team members were high school juniors Kade Kramer, Casey Blankenship, Caleb Logan, Cody Blankenship and David Weisz, and freshman Trevor Lopez.

The winners will receive another 3-foot sub sandwich party pack - which they can eat at their leisure.

Collins said the local restaurant holds the event as a business promotion and because "it's so much fun."
