Mary's Pampered Pets gladly going to the dogs
On April 10, 2006, Mary's Pampered Pets, 108 E. Buckeye St., was opened for business by owner and operator, Mary Miller, CMG, Certified Master Groomer.
Mary's Pampered Pets is a grooming and retail store for cats and dogs. Miller does make-overs for both cats and dogs. The business provides services similar to human haircuts and shampoos except for pets.
Miller does nail trims, cleans hair from paw pads, and cleans ears. She also shampoos dogs and cats in a hydrosurge bathing systems, which is a massaging bath that helps to relax and soothe joints and muscles and cleans hair down to the skin.
The shop also offers retail items such as shampoo, cat toys, treats, dogs toys and treats for cats and dogs, which are made in the USA. The shop carries Pet-n-Shape treats and treats for cats including Cosnic treats in different flavors as tuna, chicken, salmon, turkey and fish.
The groomer also carries toothbrushes with paste and bone-a-mint treats to help clean teeth. There is also NuVet supplements for both joints and muscles.
Miller reported that business has been very good since opening. Clients come from all around including Bettsville, Fremont, Bellevue, Port Clinton and from as far away as Columbus and Cleveland. When Miller first started this business, she was averaging 15 to 20 animals a week, now she is up to 35 to 45 animals a week, and 65 pets weekly during the holidays.
If business continues to grow, the shop owner anticipates she may need to hire an employee to help bathe the animals and run the office and perhaps a second groomer.
Miller would like to bring to her business is "creative grooming", which is an art in itself. Creative grooming is where you can create a design on a dog of either a picture of something or just dye its hair to change the color of the animal. It is fun and stylish.
