Crocketts note 50 years

Robert S. Crockett started turning his farmland into fairways in 1957 with three sons, Bob, Jerry and Tom.

In 1958, a 9-hole course opened. Now 50 years, the family still oversees the daily operations and strives to continually improve upon what was a "crazy dream back in 1957".

Green Hills Golf Course, located at 1959 S. Main St., provides public golfing, golf outings, leagues, clinics, and family events on an Executive Course, driving range and a Proshop.

Business in the past year have been good, according to the business. The Crockett family remodeled the inside of the tavern as well as continued to improve and maintain the current building and course.

Along with Green Hills, the Crockett family oversees the daily operations of Woussickett Golf Course in Sandusky and River Cliff Golf Course in Fremont.

Starting in the 2008 season, River Cliff will be expanding its business by offering banquet facilities year round.
