Poles are

going up

GREEN SPRINGS - The Jeremy Shock family and the Green Springs Business-Community Association has begun Community Park Lights project.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, volunteers joined to dig holes and pour concrete for the light poles.

This Saturday, Sept. 27, volunteers will erect the poles and the lights. The project is a memorial to Marine Lance Corporal Jeremy Shock, who was killed in the Iraq War.

Since March 2007, the community has raised over $125,000 of its $150,000 goal. Fund raising efforts are still underway, according to Brenda Rando with the community association.

For more information contact: Rando, 419-639-2323, at The Croghan Colonial Bank.
