Local school board OKs staff, coaching positions

The Clyde-Green Springs board of education approved a list of personnel items at its regular meeting on June 30.

The board employed three certified staff for 2008-09 on one-year limited contracts. They are Kelly Olson, Special Education teacher at Green Springs School; Michelle Baker, fifth grade teacher at Green Springs School; and Jackie Miller, eighth grade Math teacher at McPherson MMS.

The board approved a classification change for Tim Fiser to Class III Maintenance, hired Ron Reed, a bus driver; hired Anita Eubanks, a kitchen manager for the summer feeding program.

They hired: Vicky Nieset, the administrative site coordinator and monitor for the summer feeding program; Vicki Rowe, substitute secretary; and Brenda Mathis, substitute custodian;

Teachers hired for WSOS Summer School Program were Abbie Dorobek, Abbey Frey, and Lindsay Biggs.

Marc Gibson was employed, Spring 2008 Fitness advisor at $1,240.

Summer Fitness advisors hired at $8 per hour were: Marc Gibson, Matt Flewelling, Ward Widmer, Ryan Carter, John Cahill, and Dave Marty.

Extracurricular contracts for 2008-09 coaches were awarded to: Angie Runion, MMS Volleyball; Joe Webb, MMS Football; Dan Weyer, MMS Football; Gary Swartz, MMS Wrestling; Mark Rosche, MMS Boys Basketball; Brad Bannister, MMS Girls Basketball; Hal Harnden, MMS Girls Track; Scott Nossaman, MMS Girls Track; and Dan Weyer, MMS Boys Track .

Non-teachers also were hired for 2008-09 for coaching positions: Deb Newsom, MMS Volleyball; Scott Harrington, MMS Football; James Andrews, MMS Football; Jeff Balogh, MMS Football; Troy Albright, MMS Football; Bobbi Fisher, MMS Cheerleading; Randy Miller, MMS Wrestling; Victor Flores, MMS Wrestling; Bobby Hohenstein, MMS Boys Basketball; Jerry Smetzler, MMS Girls Basketball; and Sonny Workman, MMS Boys Track .

The board hired CHS OGT Interventions instructors for Reading-Writing, Amanda Dirlam and Science, Ann Kauble.

Members also granted extended school year service hours for Erin Mosier, 24 hours total and Melanie Zerman, 18 hours total.
