FFA presents awards at Townsend School

VICKERY - The Margaretta FFA held its 79th annual awards banquet on May 20 at Townsend School.

Over 200 members and guests attended the event. President-elect David Siesel presided over the banquet.

The 2008-2009 officers were installed: President, David Siesel; Vice President, Courtney Balduff; Secretary, Kory Munk; Treasurer, Ashley Sartor; Student Advisor, Kalie Bodey; Reporter, Megan Miller; Sentinel, JT Fitz; and Historian, Renea Yetter.

Advisor Tim Niemeyer was recognized for more than 30 years of service to Margaretta FFA as a teacher and advisor.

David Siesel was recognized for receiving his State FFA Degree at the State Convention in Columbus.

Kelli Hendricks and John Schaeffer were recognized for receiving their American FFA Degree.

Academic awards were given to Freshmen: AJ Oeder, Halle Rice, Emilee Rice, Renea Yetter, Sydney Alexander, Kalie Bodey, Beth Keller, Amber Lichtle, Brandon Pumphrey, and Jacob Stierhoff; Sophomores: Kaitlyn Eckert, Ethan Spiggle, Ashley Sartor, Alyssa Napka, Kory Munk, Megan Miller, Bryce Fredrick, Courtney Balduff, Derrick Jacobs, Kyle Homerick, Jerald Fitz, Rachel Christian; Juniors: Alexis Sturbaum, David Siesel, Anthony Palmison, Evan Kurt, and Kyle Galindo; Seniors: Lindsay Schaeffer, Jennifer Nath, Kayla Munk, Alissa Malott, Jordan Cramer, and Meghan Brownell.

The first place fundraising award was presented to Megan Miller. Second place went to Alissa Malott, third Courtney Balduff; fourth, Renea and Tyler Yetter; and fifth, Kalie Bodey.

Kayla Munk received the Ag Credit and Counry Mortgages 110 percent Award.

The Star Chapter Award went to Alissa Malott, who also received the $1,000 National FFA Mathews Ford Scholarship .

Star Greenhands went to Renea Yetter and Kalie Bodey.

Greenhand Degree were presented to Brittany Ballard, Jeremy Garcia, Bradley Gennari, Jacob Limberios, Mike Link, Dalten Taylor Webb, Jessica Wieber, Jon Cook, Kaitlyn Eckert, AJ Oeder, Halle Rice, Emilee Ross, Jerrid Tucker, Renea Yetter, Christie Durst, Michael Shroyer, Anthony Stookey, Sydney Alexander, Kalie Bodey, Leanna Haynes, Paige Keller, Frank Moses, Brandon Pumphrey, Travis Stigall, Emily Bailey, Jacob Brooks, Eric Gildenmeister, Beth Keller, Nichole Kocsis, Shelby Kromer, Amber Lichtle, Kasey Parker, Collin Schaufler, Natalie Shroyer, and Jacob Stierhoff.

The Chapter Degree was presented to Joe Miller, Jerald Fitz, Derrick Jacobs, Kyle Homerick, Katie Orshoski, Caleb White, Courtney Balduff, Megan Miller, Kory Munk, Bryce Fredrick, Jeff Keller, Morgan Sherwood, Ethan Spiggle, and Ashley Sartor.
