Revere Plastics begins 'Scary' food collection

The employees at Revere Plastics Systems on Elm Street in have started a drive to help replenish the food supply at the Clyde Back Door Food Pantry and Liberty Center, according to a press release.

The food drive was initiated by plant employees following an article in The Clyde Enterprise last month, which reported that the families turning to the local pantry had reached 111 and that the pantry was in need of food and funds, according to a press release.

The plant's "It's Scary to be Hungry Food and Fund Drive" will span from now until Oct. 31.

At Revere Plastics Systems, the staff will be holding special events such as "Let's Do Lunch Week" and "Toilet Paper Tuesday" along with other department competitions. The company also inserted small flyers in with employee checks.

Committee chairwoman Amelia Keown, noted that as of Friday, the 500 plant employees had collected 100 pounds of food.
