Museum to host Native American exhibit, events

Native American paintings of local artist, James Watt, are being exhibited at the Clyde Museum in time for the Thursday, July 17 Native Ohioans and Early Settlers program.

The museum will be open from 1 to 4 with the program at 2 p.m., featuring Indian flute music by Ruth Brown of Tiffin, as Princess Songbird, with her puppets.

Claude and Carolyn Young from the Green Springs Stemtown Museum will share information on the Seneca Indian Reservation. Attendees are invited to bring related items for show and tell and children can make a feather beaded charm to take home.

The museum is located in the former Grace Episcopal Church across from the post office. Museum summer programs are held rain or shine and hosted by Clyde Heritage League volunteers. There is no charge and no reservations are required; however, a phone call helps plan for treats.

For information call Brenda Stultz 419-639-3017 or Bob Gill 419-547-0870. You can also leave your name and number attending on the museum answering machine 419-547-7946.
