The Clyde Public Library will accept non-perishable food items in payment for overdue fines from Aug. 4 through Aug. 30.

Those returning overdue materials are encouraged to "pay" their fine with canned food, boxed foods, and paper products. The Library will accept one non-perishable item for every $1 of the owed amount.

Suggested food or paper products include: Canned potatoes, applesauce, yams, vegetables, pie filling, boxed stuffing and other types of mixes, paper towels, toilet tissue, facial tissue, and napkins.

All collected items will be delivered to the Clyde Backdoor Food Pantry to benefit area families. Please, no outdated food items will be accepted. This program does not apply to lost or damaged library materials.
