Hon. C.P. Cooke, brother to our townsman E.W. Cooke, died at his home in Ellensburg, Washington Territory, on Oct. 11.

Scott Trump of Co. I, was very sick with typhoid fever at Knoxville.
Horace Dirlam, playing with a cap used to explode dynamite, was severely injured about the left eye when the cap exploded.
Mr. Witter, father of Mrs. F.J. Guinall, died.
The new bridge over the creek near the Enos Grover farm on the Green Springs road, was severely damaged by the flood.
Frank Craig, a member of Co. I, who contract typhoid fever while in the service, died at the home of his parents near Galetown. He was 22 years old.

Fire destroyed the old Hiram Deyo homestead on South Ridge near Birdseye's Corners. Only the blackened walls were left standing.
Miss Mildred Sutch fell from an automobile and badly sprained her left arm.
Esther Wiedle slipped and fell while going out of the door, and sustained a badly sprained ankle.
Ed Wiedle had all his apples stolen, and Frank Parker had a number of bushels of potatoes stolen.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Don Byers and Mr. and Mrs. Will White; and sons to Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Lee.

Clyde's newest store, Bud and Bob's Haberdashery, opened in the room formerly occupied by Bacon's Dry Goods in the Beck block on W. Main St. Owners R.W. Bacon and Leslie Purcell.
A. Doebel had a display in his greenhouses some beautiful chrysanthemums in colors from deep red to the white Betsy Ross. There were more than 80 varieties on display.

The barn and garage at the Robert Hildwein farm north of Clyde were burned to the ground.
Mr. and Mrs. William Balduf quietly observed the 28th anniversary of the beginning of their business in Clyde. They purchased the bakery from C.B. Cisene on Nov. 2, 1911 and began work the very next day.

Work started on the rebuilding of the Mulberry Street bridge over Raccoon Creek. Elmer Ott, of the village was in charge of the work.
Herbert Bowers suffered a fracture hip sustained when he was hit by a taxi at the intersection of Main and Buckeye Streets.
George (Joe) Biggs, 24, member of the Fremont Police Department, was killed during a hold-up chase.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Halbeisen; and a son to Mr. and Mrs. William Bailey.

Gerald Powers escaped serious injury when he dozed off and his car hit a guard rail and leaped into the air on the Route 53 bypass at CR 39 southwest of Fremont.

Arthur Whitaker, 21, was killed in a motorcycle-auto accident.
James A. Getty, former Clyde resident, now residing in Gettysburg, Pa., returned to Clyde to portray Abraham Lincoln in a program at Clyde High School.
Three men from the Cleveland area were killed when their small commercial twin engine Lear 25 jet crashed in a field on CR 237 in Townsend Township.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. David Frederick; and sons to Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Durnwald, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Meggitt and Mr. and Mrs. Rod Michaels.

Clyde-Green Springs Board of Education hear of a math tutoring program for disadvantaged elementary school students possibly being considered for the school district.
Glenna Stout established an independent tax firm at 125 W. McPherson Highway.

Scout Troop No. 320 attended the World War II Fly-in at Wright-Patterson Air Base in Dayton. There were 10 scouts in attendance.
Eighth graders from St. Mary's School painted windows in downtown Clyde to participate in the Clyde Exchange Club window decorating contest.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Workman and Mr. and Mrs. James DeVanna; and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Phillips.

Green Springs resident Adam Greenslade announces his candidacy for Sandusky County commissioner, launching a campaign for the seat being vacated by retiring commissioner Dan Liskai. The election to fill the seat will occur in November of 2008. Greenslade said his campaign must begin now to prepare for the March 2008 Primary election.
The Clyde-Green Springs Exempted Village Board of Education approved a list of donations at its Oct. 22 meeting. Joe and Sharon Wilson donated $54,375 for the Clyde High School soccer field lighting project and other high school projects.
On a Friday night, in triumph, Fliers football players raise their helmets after Clyde defeats Oak Harbor to win the Sandusky Bay Conference football title.
The high school team next must travel to Tipp City for the Region 10 Quarterfinal game against Tippecanoe High School.
