As Luke Ballard and Miss Myrtie, daughter of Elisha Haff, were driving on North Ridge, their buggy ran into an old log lying beside the road, capsizing the buggy and throwing both occupants out, but not seriously injuring either of them. The horse tried to run away and dragged Luke quite a distance before he could stop him.

A telegram from the war department brought the information to Mr. and Mrs. William Meincer of South Ridge that their son, Edward Meincer, had been severely wounded in action. A letter received from Lieut. Leland Mugg stated he had been wounded in action and was hospitalized. Alfred and Leo Dalton were also both reported wounded.
Sergeant Clifford L. O'Brien, one of the original members of Company I when that organization left Clyde for the Mexican border, died from wounds received in battle in France, according to a letter from the War Department received by his mother, Mrs. Ida Maxon, Church Street.
A.B. Gillette sold three milk cows to a man who lived three miles west of Fremont and the purchaser drove them home. About three o'clock the next morning, Mr. and Mrs. Gillette were awakened by a familiar bellowing near their window, and going out to investigate they found one of the cows had gotten homesick and returned to them in the night, making her way through Fremont and the entire distance alone.

Clyde Exchange Club planned a big Halloween frolic since no public observance had been held in several years.
Mrs. Elizabeth Hebeisen died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thos. Forgerson, George Street, on Saturday last at six o'clock p.m.
The big well at the waterworks reservoir is a boomer. It has been dug thirty feet deep, and is now nearly full of water. Boring will now be begun and a hole drilled through the rock which had not yet been reached.
The first issue of "The Democrat" formerly the "Clyde Review" will appear tomorrow, under the proprietorship of Mr. A.J. Shaeffer.
Addie F. Goodson, by P.N. Schuyler, her attorney, has begun proceedings in Common Pleas Court at Fremont for a divorce from her husband Fred L. Goodson, averaging gross neglect and habitual drunkenness. The parties are prominent in Bellevue society.
George L. Close, secretary of Oberlin College and former Clyde resident, was in serious condition following an auto accident.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Earl Hagmyer; and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Leo Foos.

A new restaurant was opened in the W.H. Hock block on north Main Street four doors north of the intersection of Main and Buckeye Streets, on the west side of Main Street, and operated by Robert Horn and his mother, Mrs. Olive Horn of Fremont.
Mrs. Clarence Weisheit had an unpleasant experience when she dumped some bananas out of the sack in which she had purchased them, and three small tarantula spiders ran out from the fruit.
Mrs. August Hintz fell down the stairs at her home and sustained severe bruises and possible broken bones.
Mrs. John Tucker fell at her home on Mulberry Street and broke the bones in her left arm.

Jimmy Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. B.V. Mitchell had the misfortune to break his collar bone at football practice which prevented him from participating in sports for the remainder of the year.

A motorist traveling west on the Clyde-Green Springs road rammed into the rear of a Clyde school bus.
More than 100 people attended the town meeting forum on the controversial "Right to Work" amendment held in Fellowship Hall of First Methodist Church. The Methodist Men's Club and Christian Men's Fellowship of The Clyde Christian Church sponsored the event.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Roger Stevens, Mr. and Mrs. Clenton Noftz, Mr. and Mrs. John Giedeman and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Herman.

Clyde Tool and Die, Inc., announced that the firm would be tripling the manufacturing area of its plastics division, according to general manager George Schrader.
Vehicles operated by LeRoy Gilbert and Ernest Worchester were involved in a spectacular accident at Woodland and McPherson which spread a cargo of bagged crushed limestone along the route and downed power lines.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wright and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Mathis; and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Tom Palicka.

A small commercial twin engine Lear 25 jet crashed on the Robert Wright farm north of town, killing the pilot.
Riley Garden Club celebrated its 25th anniversary with a potluck at the home of Mrs. Robert Meyer.

Clyde City Council members toured the new Sandusky County EMS building after its regular session.
Clyde Police Sgt. Dennis Hall, representative of Clyde Back Door Food Pantry, accepted a $600 check from president and CEO Paul Howard, of the Clyde-Findlay Are Credit Union. CFACU employees created and sold a 60th anniversary cookbook to raise funds for the Clyde Back Door and Findlay food pantries.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Duane Kimmet and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dauch; and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Craig Travis.

New technology comes with bugs and the City of Clyde and American Broadband and Telecommunications encountered a swarm in the launching of the city Broadband over Powerlines Internet system this year. Customers are being hooked from the city hub at the city building to the south and east. The city has about 50 customers online.
Thousands of wooden pallets created an inferno on a Monday afternoon and it took six fire departments nearly two hours to extinguish the flames. Townsend Fire Chief Joe Parkhurst said burning trash apparently had led to the fire.
