Smiths celebrating 65 years of marriage
Paul and Phyllis Smith, Sr., of Fremont, and formerly of Green Springs, will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary with a family dinner.
Paul and the former Phyllis Needham were married July 3, 1943 at the United Methodist Church in Green Springs.
The couple are the parents of Paul Byron (Billie) Smith, Jr. of Green Springs, Judy (Ken) Stout of Fremont and Debbie Smith of Tampa, Fla. The couple have 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
Paul Smith, Sr. was a farmer for 35 years. Phyllis Smith was a school bus driver. She taught knitting and crocheting and volunteered at Sun City Senior Center and other various places, retiring in 2005.
