Fliers' doubles find success

The Flier tennis team went 1-2 this past week as the defeated Edison 4-1 at home April 30, but lost on the road 3-2 at Oak Harbor April 29 and at Port Clinton 5-0 on May 1.

Against Edison the Fliers got singles wins from Jon Hill and Eric Johnson and both doubles teams of Danny Michaels and Tommy Stein, and Patrick Potts and Brody Fultz were winners.

Against Oak Harbor both doubles teams of Michaels and Stein and Lucus Cooley and Johnson were victorious. Jon Hill lost a tough 7-5, 6-4 match at first singles.

Against Port Clinton coach Jeff MacFarland split his number one doubles team of Michaels and Stein up and had them play singles, but it was not enough to overcome the powerful Redskins.

1st Doubles - Danny Michaels and Tommy Stein (C) defeated Derek Witt and Brandon Wasserman (OH) 7-6(3), 4-6, 6-3

2nd Doubles - Lucas Cooley and Eric Johnson (C) defeated Nick Johnson and Kevin Young (OH) 6-0, 6-0
