The Lady Fliers suffered their first loss of the season this past week but still went 3-1 overall to take their season record to 9-1.

On April 14, they defeated Edison on the road. April 16 they defeated Port Clinton at home before losing to Huron on the road April 18. On April 19, they defeated Seneca East in a make-up game at CHS.

The Lady Fliers will play St. Mary's Central Catholic on the road April 23 and then Perkins at home April 24 before playing Oak Harbor on the road April 28.

The Lady Fliers kept their winning streak alive with an 11-1 win over Edison Monday night. Thehe Lady Fliers are 7-0 and more importantly is that it was the first Sandusky Bay Conference game of the season.

Once again it was Brooke Billings gaining the win for the Lady Fliers from the circle as she pitched a complete game to run her record to 7-0. Billings gave up one unearned run on eight hits with four strikeouts and three walks. Katlyn Fisher took the loss for Edison.

Billings had plenty of offensive support in the game as the Lady Fliers banged out 11 hits. Lauren Meyer had three hits with a double and an RBI. Morgan Gray had a double and a triple with three RBI's and Aubrie Burkett had three hits with a double and an RBI. Kay Elfring had two hits with a double and an RBI.

The Lady Fliers scored two runs in the top of the second inning but Edison made it 2-1 with a run in the bottom of the inning. The Lady Fliers got that run back in the third inning to go up 3-1 and then added another run in the top of the fifth inning to go up 4-1 after five. The Lady Fliers then broke the game wide open with four runs in the top of the sixth inning and three more in the seventh.

Freshman Brooke Billings flirted with a no-hitter for six innings against Port Clinton before the Redskins snapped the "no, no" in the seventh inning. It didn't matter as Billings ended up pitching a two hitter, and the Lady Fliers won 4-1 to raise their record to 8-0 and 2-0 in the SBC.

Billings allowed one run while striking out seven without a walk while pitching a two hitter over seven innings. Abby Skrbina took the loss for Port Clinton which falls to 1-5 for the season.

The Lady Fliers scored two runs in the first inning and the then scored two more in the fourth inning. Morgan Gray singled home Nicole George for the Lady Fliers first run and then Gray then scored the second run on a passed ball.

In the fourth inning George singled and scored when Gray was safe on an error. Gray then scored on a groundout by Kaila Strausbaugh.

Offensively George had a hit with a pair of walks and scored two runs. Gray had a hit with two runs scored and an RBI. Lauren Meyer had a triple and Nikki Bryant and Aubrie Burkett both had singles. Strausbaugh had an RBI.

All it took was one swing of the bat by Lexi Majoy to end the Lady Fliers win streak and knock them from the ranks of the unbeaten only the Lady Fliers didn't know it at the time.

Majoy hit a line drive over the left center field fence for a home run off of Brooke Billings in the first inning with Jill Barnes on base and the Tigers held on for a 2-1 win. Billings pitched a five hitter with one walk and five strikeouts but the Lady Flier offense just couldn't get anything going. Hayley Corso picked up the win for Huron.

Kaila Strausbaugh, Nikki Bryant and Aliesha Boonie all doubled for the Lady Fliers but it was not enough.

The Lady Fliers were suppose to play Seneca East during the Oak Harbor Tournament at Graytown but that game was rained out so they re-scheduled it at Clyde on Saturday and it turned out well as the Lady Fliers got back on the winning track with a 5-2 win.

It was Chelsea Turner picking up the win from the circle in a rare start with four innings of work. Turner gave up two hits while striking out three batters and walking four. Brooke Billings came in and pitched three innings of relief for the save.

In her three innings of work Billings gave up no earned runs or hits while striking out six batters with one walk. Alexsa Wilhelm took the loss for Seneca East with seven innings of work.

Kay Elfring led the Lady Flier attack with two hits and three RBI's. Nicole George had a double with an RBI. Kaila Strausbaugh had a hit and an RBI. Nikki Bryant, Aubrie Burkett and Morgan Gray also had hits for the Lady Fliers who now stand at 9-1 and 2-1 in the SBC.
