14th Annual Margaretta Relays
The McPherson Middle School boys track team won the 14th Annual Margaretta Relays on April 25.
The Clyde team scored 88.5 with Perkins second with 73.5. Third went to Seneca East, 62; and fourth to Sandusky, 58.
The young Fliers made it back to back victories at the 14th annual Margaretta Relays.
"Winners in 2007 and now 2008 marks the only years any Clyde teams have won this very competitive event," according to Coach Sonny Workman.
Four school records fell en route to the championship. The shot put relay of Billy Ward and Adam Wilkerson set a relay school record of 81 feet and 7 inches. The 4 x 1 mile relay team of Eric Kliz, Zach Prentice, Joey Cooper and Isaac Bouyack set a school record of 21:38.9.
Four boys also set the distance medley relay school record with a 12:43.5.
The team of Tyler Missler, Bryan Fox, Adam Turner and Blaine MacFarland set the 4 x 400m relay school record with a time of 3:53.1.
"These guys were impressive all day and into the night," Workman added.
"Coach Weyer and myself knew it was gonna' be between us and Perkins.
"Perkins did very well as expected but our guys put it together and came out on top. We are very excited and proud of them.
"We have more to accomplish, we are looking forward to the SBC meet on May 12, which happens to be at Perkins."
