Bowlers celebrate great season

The Fliers bowling teams finally got a chance to hold their awards banquet after a fire destroyed their home bowling alley at Plaza Lanes and put things on hold for awhile.

All four teams had great seasons with the varsity girls winning the Sandusky Bay Area Bowling Conference with an 11-1 mark. The varsity boy's finished second with an 8-4 record. The JV boys placed first in the conference with a 9-3 record and the JV girls also won the conference title with a 4-0 record.

Earning First Year Varsity Awards for the Fliers boys were Brion Cullen, Mike Moore, Jacob Durdel and Adam Culbertson. Earning a Second Year Varsity Plaque was Brock Cooley. Earning Third Year Varsity Plaques were Patrick Potts and Phillip Farrar.

Earning JV Certificates were Aaron Aman, Jacob Emery, Matt Guthrie, Travis Finn and Kyle Profitt. Earning numerals was Kyle Chase. All of the JV players received conference champion trophies.

Earning the Most Improved Award for the boy's varsity team was Brion Cullen. Earning the MVP Award was Phillip Farrar. Earning the Coaches Award was Brion Cullen. Earning the varsity Academic Award was Brock Cooley. Earning Senior Plaques were Phillip Farrar and Jacob Durdel. Phillip Farrar and Brock Cooley were both named First Team All-Conference. Patrick Potts was named Second Team All-Conference.

Earning the JV Most Improved Bowler Award was Matt Guthrie. Earning the Coaches Award was Jacob Emery. Earning the MVP Award was Adam Culbertson. Earning the JV Academic Award was Aaron Aman.

Earning First Year Varsity Awards for the Lady Fliers were Breanna Farrar (numerals) and Aubrie Burkett. Earning a Second Year Varsity Plaque was Lyndsey Eisenhouer. Earning Third Year Varsity Plaques were Haley Farrar and Brittani Smith.

Earning JV Certificates for the Lady Fliers were Megan Kindred, Jessica Hartwig, Brittanie Carroll, Mariah Wiseman, Molly McCoy, Ann Schultz and Kalli Ebert. Earning Numerals was Jessica Potts. All of the JV girls received league championship trophies.

Earning the varsity Academic Award was Haley Farrar. Earning Senior Plaques were Haley Farrar, Brittani Smith, Kalli Ebert, Jessica Hartwig, Megan Kindred and Ann Schultz. All of the varsity girls received league championship trophies. Lyndsey Eisenhouer and Haley Farrar were both named to the First All-Conference Team. Breanna Farrar was Second Team All-Conference.

Earning the JV MVP Award for the Lady Fliers was Ann Schultz. Earning the Coaches Award was Brittanie Carroll. Earning the Most Improved Award was Molly McCoy. Earning the JV Academic Award was Jessica Potts.

The Lady Fliers varsity ended the season with the following averages, Brittani Smith 180, Haley Farrar 176.7, Lyndsey Eisenhauer 172.9, Breanna Farrar 153.4 and Aubrie Burkett 144.1.

The Fliers varsity had the following averages, Phillip Farrar 205.4, Brock Cooley 201.1, Patrick Potts 191.6, Mike Moore 177.6, Adam Culbertson 175.6, Jacob Durdel 160.6, Brion Cullen 184.7 and Travis Finn 164.6.
