Harvest Baptist attendance averages 400 in past year

Harvest Baptist Temple, 1022 S. Main St., was established as the Clyde Pentecostal Church. The estimated dates were 1964-64.

Pastor James Lewis took over the church in 1973. In the late 1970s it became an Independent Fundamental Church and continues today as an Independent Fundamental Baptist Church.

The church reaches out to this community and surrounding area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church provides an atmosphere where people can grown and serve in a local church setting.

In the past year, the average attendance was 397, with the highest attendance being 711. Church membership grew by 23, according to a church report.

Future expansions are being planned for the Harvest Temple Christian Academy and a Retirement Center on the Clyde campus.

The Harvest Baptist Temple is a user friendly, welcoming church with many ministries to assist each family in their own growth.

It is a very well balanced church with ministries and activities to support every age group, the church reported.
