MMS names top musicians from OMEA Dist. II contest

Local youths

earn superiors,

excellent ratings

Several McPherson Middle School musicians participated in the Ohio Music Education Association District II Solo and Ensemble Contest on April 5 at Seneca East High School.

Over 300 events were entered in this adjudicated event.

Clyde-Green Springs school students earning a superior rating included: Vic Wobser, Daniel Wyss, Austin Fritz, and Steve Cleveland: saxophone quartet; Vic Wobser, alto saxophone solo; Steve Cleveland, baritone saxophone solo;

Sara Smith, cello, french horn, and trombone solos; Maria Gerber, clarinet solo; Kylie Hush, Haley Lozier, and Sarah Mille, flute trio;

Kathy Hansen: alto saxophone solo; Josh Marty, multiple percussion solo; Josh Faneoff, trumpet solo; Ellie Lesavage, clarinet solo; Edison Stayancho, Tim Billow and Andrew Parisi, trumpet trio; Cassidy Lehmann, clarinet solo; and Betty Murphy, Brianna Costantini, and Madison Aldrich, woodwind trio.

Local students earning an excellent rating included: Amanda Medley, snare drum solo; Betty Murphy, clarinet solo; Haley Lozier, flute solo; Kylie Hush, flute solo; Leah Marty, piano solo; Mackenzi Shaull-Babcock, alto saxophone solo; Madison Aldrich, flute solo; Patrick Tea, tenor saxophone solo; and Treshawn Murphy, tenor saxophone solo.
