Aaron Tippin will perform in Clyde this September. (Submitted photograph)

Aaron Tippin coming to Clyde

Country music artist Aaron Tippin will perform at the Clyde High School Auditorium on Saturday, Sept. 27.

The Communities for the Arts announced last week that the concert has been added to their schedule.

The fall concert also now appears on the concert schedule of Tippin's website, aarontippin.musiccitynetworks.com.

After a three-year break, Tippin will be releasing a new CD under his own label NIPPET Records entitled "He Believed" this summer.

Early release is slated for May through Cracker Barrel. The CD will include his hit, "There Ain't Nothin' Wrong With The Radio", according to his web site.

Tippin is also know for touring Iraq and Kuwait doing shows for U.S. troops.

Nancy Hanger, with the Communities for the Arts, said tickets for the event will be $40 each and the auditorium will seat nearly 800. There will be one show only.

Sale dates for Tippin tickets will be announced in several weeks.

CFTA sponsors and members will have the opportunity to purchase tickets ahead of the general public, according to Hanger.

The Tippin concert will be the CFTA's first "country" concert, she added. The local group now sponsors Toledo Symphony concerts in the spring and at Christmas annually.

In the past the group has sponsored the Grammy-winning group "Riders in the Sky", Phil Dirt and The Dozers and co-sponsored the United States Army Field Band with The Clyde Enterprise.

This year, the CFTA still has the May 4 Terra Choral Society and Firelands Symphony Orchestra slated and just announced that The Four Lads, will appear at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21 in the auditorium.
