Virginia Laremore

Virginia S. Laremore, 80, Tiffin, formerly of Clyde, died Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Hospital in Toledo.

She was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Perrysburg, the daughter of John Harold and May Suzanne (Hale) Laremore.

She graduated from Clyde High School in 1945. She had been a telegraph operator for Western Union in Detroit, Mich. for 38 years. One of her duties was sending the telegraphs of the sports events from Detroit, to the outside world, as she sat in the press box at the contests. She had been baptized and confirmed at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde, but was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Tiffin.

Survivors include her sister, Kathleen Tusing, of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Addie Lou Turley; and three brothers, James Laremore, Hale Laremore and Jerry Laremore.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m., at McPherson Cemetery.
