Anne B. Pickett
Anne B. Pickett, 83, Clyde, died Sunday, April 27, 2008, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 15, 1925, in Clyde, the daughter of Edward and Mary Ann (Bell) Leidy. She married George B. Pickett on June 25, 1949.
She graduated from Clyde High School in 1942. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, the Altar Rosary Society, the Altar Guild at St. Francis and helped in jail ministry. During World War II she worked at Camp Perry. She also worked at her parent' ice cream shop, Leidy's Ice Cream and later with her husband, George, at Pickett's Nursery.
Survivors include her husband, George; a daughter, Judith (Dale) Lounsbury of Euguen, Ore.; a son, Mark (Linda) Pickett of Fremont; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Mary Picket in May 1956; and two sisters, Marie Wirtz and Catherine Sliter.
Visitation will be Friday, May 2, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St. A wake service will be at 7:45 p.m., at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be held Saturday, May 3, at 10 a.m., at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Clyde, with the Rev. Dennis Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Parish cemetery.
