Betty J. Kirkendall

Betty J. Kirkendall, 79, Clyde, died Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Memorial Hospital in Fremont.

She was born Dec. 23, 1929 in Willard, the daughter of George A. and Lucille (Bradner) White. She married Gleadus Kirkendall on June 12, 1965 and he preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1992.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde. For 28 years, she had been an LPN at several nursing homes in the Clyde area, prior to her retirement.

Survivors include her sons, John J. Palm of Toledo and James A. Kirkendall of Florida; stepdaughters, Margaret Kirkendall of Cleveland, Janet Jones of Toledo and Virginia Kirkendall of Arizona; four grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; and a brother, William J. White of Stanton, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gleadus; a daughter, Karen Ottney; a son, George Palm; a stepson, Gleadus Kirkendall; a sister, Dorothy Dessenberg; and brothers, George White and Donald White.

Visitation was held one hour prior to funeral services on Monday, April 28, at 11 a.m., at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St. Burial was in McPherson Cemetery.
