George Burroughs
George William "Bill" Burroughs, 78, Clyde, died Friday, April 18, 2008 at his residence in Key Largo, Fla.
He was born Jan. 13, 1930, the son of Jesse E. and Grace N. (Sultz) Burroughs. He married Mary J. Shoup on July 5, 1950.
He worked at the Bendix Corporation and owned and operated Burroughs Framing and the Burroughs Framing Spec., Inc. with his son, Steven, until his retirement on Jan. 1, 1993.
Survivors include his wife, Mary of Clyde; his children, David W. Burroughs, Steven S. (Rebecca) Burroughs, both of Bellevue, Randall L. Burroughs of Medina and Michael L. (LuAnn) Burroughs of Green Springs; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris (Gene) Hart of St. Joseph, Mich., Donna Mowery and Esther Carter, both of Clyde; and a brother, Harry (Connie) Burroughs of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Varal Askins, Virginia Gilbert and Betty Klawitter; and a brother, Arthur E. "Bud" Burroughs.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 23 (today), at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Green Springs.
Funeral services will be Thursday, April 24, at 10:30 a.m., with a one hour visitation prior, at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home in Green Springs with the Rev. Dennis Reinhart officiating. Burial will be in Bakertown Cemetery.
