Elizabeth A. Burkett

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Burkett, 86, Clyde died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at her residence.

She was born May 4, 1921 in Ballville Township, Sandusky County, the daughter of Frank and Bertha (Beckman) Peters. She married Kenneth R. Burkett on March 1, 1941 and he preceded her in death on March 16, 1994.

She graduated from Clyde High School in 1939. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde, the Women of the Church, Fremont Area Women's Connection and the Nifty Knitters and the former Townsend Grange.

Survivors include her daughters, Jean (Robert) Cramer of Sandusky, Jane (Frank) Perrin of St. Joseph, Mich., Joan Petersen of Mentor, Janet (Keith) Engler of Napoleon, Judith (Tom) Wehrmeister of Monroe, Mich., June (Dennis) Poole of Mentor, and Jacquelyn Larkins of Clyde; a son, John E. (Sharon) Burkett of Huber Heights; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great, great-grandchildren; a sister, Thelma Munson of Canal Winchester; and two brothers, George (Katie) Peters of Clyde and William (Dorothy) Peters of Vickery.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Kenneth.

Visitation was Friday, April 25, at the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St.

Funeral services were Saturday, April 26, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clyde, with the Rev. Gerry Gosnell officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
