Letter to the editor

Boys team

made

impression

To the editor:

As a veteran observer of Clyde scholastic sports, I have witnessed some excellent teams and quality athletes the past 20 years or so.

Nearly all have made a lasting impression, but perhaps none more than the seniors on this year's SBC (Sandusky Bay Conference) champion Flier varsity basketball team. Teddy Mason, Tommy Stein, Eric Johnson, Justin Cook, Logan Tea, and Ethan Ott have more than proven themselves not only as fine athletes, but much more importantly as quality young adults.

Several years ago, five of these young men made a very positive impression upon me when they became members of a seventh grade basketball team I coached. Eric later joined the five when he was a junior at CHS. From the time I met them until this day, they have truly conducted themselves with humility, dignity, and genuine class on and off the court. One cannot keep from cheering for them be-cause they are coachable, teachable, and personable. All future Fliers would serve themselves well if they could imitate these fine young adults in school, in sports, and in their community.

I am quite proud of these six seniors and delighted for their first-class families who have molded such class gentlemen. I congratulate them for all they have done, not only in basketball, but for their school, community, and for fans who appreciate good sports!

Mark Rosche
