It's time to be very involved

Prior to March 4, local voters will have a big decisions to make.

That decision will affect this community - Clyde and Green Springs - for decades to come.

We must decide whether to approve a 1-percent, earned income tax for the school district. Passage would mean the community would pay a third of the cost for a near $56 million school building project.

An organized committee supporting the project will be sharing information right up through Election Day. There will be school open houses, fliers, advertisements, and even road trips to view other new schools.

The Ohio School Facilities Commission has offered to pay 66 percent of the project its has approved for Clyde-Green Springs Exempted Village School District.

As voters, you have less than two months to decide if you are willing to fund the remaining $18 to 20 million.

If you have questions - ask now. When there is an open house to visit one of the schools that would be demolished - attend.

On Jan. 22, the committee promoting passage of this tax and project will have a school tour and public meeting at Green Springs School.

We recommend that voters attend, listen and learn.
