Clydescope made good call

Clydescope Economic Development Corporation Inc. named David Danhoff this week as its new director.

We think it should be a very good fit for the entire community. Former director Dick Dagg left his position earlier this year after nearly 13 years of promoting this community.

Clyde is enjoying its current prosperity because Dagg and City Manager Dan Weaver shared a "can do" attitude to which industries could respond favorably for over the last decade. Now Weaver needs a new partner to continue that drive.

After eight years as our Clyde-Green Springs school superintendent, Danhoff left the district for the top post with Vanguard-Sentinel Career Centers. The man, who served on the Clydescope board since its early beginnings, has never been short on praise for this community - where he and his wife decided to raise their children.

Now we can expect Clydescope EDC and Danhoff to continue to promote the town and secure jobs, which will mean a positive outcome for the people who live here.
