Best Mom: Taught values in tough times

Best Mom:

Ruth Jeffers

By Michelle Garcia

My mom is the best mom in the world. At a very young age, our father was killed at work in a train accident. She had the courage and strength to raise her three kids alone.

I could never imagine her fears in doing this. She worked two jobs to make sure we were well taken care of. We were always first in her life, as she always put herself last.

Today, we are all grown with our own families. I can finally understand, being a mother of three, the morals and values she applied to each of our lives.

She is always there for us and always willing to help anyone she can. She loves to surprise friends with anything imaginable. It makes her more happy to give than receive.

We never go a day or two without at least picking up the phone just to talk about anything. We are not promised tomorrow.

Her grandchildren are everything in the world. She loves them dearly.

These are many of the reasons why my mom, my friend is the best mom in Clyde.
