Story Time

The sound of music was heard in the children's room at the Clyde Public Library. Preschoolers made their own maracas to take home.

The following books were shared: Musical Max by Robert Kraus. The peace and quiet following Max's decision to put his instruments away drives the neighbors just as crazy as his constant practicing did.

Punk Farm by Jarrett J. Krosoczka. At the end of the day, while Farmer Joe gets ready for bed, his animals tune their instruments to perform in a big concert as a rock band called Punk Farm.

Root-A-Toot-Toot! by Bernice Myers. Some music making animals are getting complaints from the other animals in the forest, so they go off to play by the lake where their joined by the others dancing to the music.

Our music leaders were Mitchell Rosser and Jason Welch. The Clyde Public Library offers Story Time every week in two sessions. Story Time sessions are on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday mornings from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Story Time sessions will end in May, a special summer Story Time, called Busy Reading Bees will continue through the summer months. Watch for more information at the end of May for posted times.

Book Bunch

Frogs were hopping all over the children's room at the Clyde Public Library. Participants created a frog visor to take home.

The following story read was an American tall tale: Febold Feboldson by Mary Pope Osborne. After living on the Great Plains by himself for a year, a Swedish farmer named Febold Feboldson was afraid he would never have neighbors. So he thought up ways to make the Great Plains look more inviting to some of the gold hunters headed to California to want to stay in his area.

The Clyde Public Library offers Book Bunch every Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. from September through April. Book Bunch wrapped up on April 29, watch for summer reading programs starting in June. This year's theme is Catch the Reading Bug! and will feature guest speakers with live bugs.
