Rev. David Street and family arrived in town on Tuesday and are now comfortably "at Home" in the Mitchell property on Cherry Street. The new pastor and family were warmly welcomed by the Presbyterian people on their arrival.
Mrs. Belle Rader, nee Letson, has accepted a salaried position as contralto in the quartet choir of the Franklin Avenue Disciple Church at Cleveland.

J.B. Maule was appointed postmaster at Green Springs.

Fred Sloan's delivery horse got the start on him as he was getting out of the wagon on Buckeye Street and ran away, scattering the contents of the wagon along the route home, but didn't break even a bottle.
A serious accident was narrowly averted at the Clyde Cars Co. when the elevator gearing got out of order and the elevator failed to stop automatically as it was set to do. Tom Hess was operating it, and was grabbed by Charles Mesnard and jerked from the elevator as it passed the third floor and just before it crashed into the ceiling. The cogs were stripped from the gearing and the elevator fell to the first floor.

1928
High winds were said to have been responsible for a runaway accident on the Clyde - Sandusky Road. The wind tipped over a hayrack and pinned Carl Lemmon, 22, beneath it. The team hitched to the wagon ran away. Lemmon suffered scalp wounds and injuries to his left leg.

Arthur Fiser received notification that he had passed his final examination for a funeral director. He took his examination at the Deshler-Wallick Hotel.
Seven cars of a Nickel Plate freight train jumped the track in Green Springs, causing an estimated $25,000 damage. A broken arch bar on one of the cars was blamed for the wreck.
John Jacob Metzgar, retired Pennsylvania railroad engineer, was found dead in bed at his home near Vickery. He was 74 years old. He lived alone and had not been seen for several days. Becoming alarmed at not seeing him around, neighbors broke in the home and found him dead.

1948
Young Artie Fiser, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. Arthur Fiser of Fairhome Avenue, had a narrow escape from a serious injury when he was struck on the face with a golf club as he was playing with a couple of neighbor boys, Doyle Wise and Robert Wott. Sixteen stitches were taken on the bridge of his nose and over one eyebrow to close the cut. He suffered a hole in the head and a concussion but no fracture.
A freak accident in which the second floor of the barn which was used as the auto room and had a caterpillar D2 tractor stored on it, dropped 10 feet without injuring anything or anyone, occurred at the E.H. Miller farm on the Galetown Road.
A rather spectacular accident occurred at Church St. and McPherson Hwy. when a truck belonging to Wilbur Taylor and driven by William Smith collided with a car from Chicago. The truck was knocked over against the fence of McPherson Cemetery, scattering its load of 100 pound blocks of ice over the highway.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Fleming; and sons to Mr. and Mrs. Ned Joseph, Mr. and Mrs. M.L. Ransom and Mr. and Mrs. William Wadsworth.

Clayton Leichty, CR 113, reported to the county sheriff that his house had been burglarized and $100 was stolen. Entrance was gained through a window.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Carlos Mendoza; and sons to Mr. and Mrs. Paul Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Daniel and Mr. and Mrs. Lyle St. Clair.

Clyde Police Chief John C. Ashton announced his retirement plans. He had been on the Clyde Police force for 28 years, serving as Chief for ten years.
The Rural Serv elevator at Vickery was leveled by fire.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Cleatus Cutcher and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Goble; and a son to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Good.

Larry and Beverly Walters, 6188 CR 177, loss their mobile home in a fire on Tuesday, April 28, 1998. The home was reported a complete loss.
The Clyde Business and Professional Association presented two awards for Outstanding Service to the Community. Awards were given to Lois Smila Hall and Carol Loudenslager Maye.

Peter Tien offered the community $100,000 in matching funds if local residents are serious about determining why 19 children have developed cancer here. Tien was presenting his company's bio-mass gasification plant plan to the community during a special session of the Clyde City Council.
