Harry Grabach entertained the residents of Race Street last Monday by letting his team run away, no damage done.
Some miserable sneak thieves entered the cellar of Geo. Burroughs a few nights since and stole all the meat they had. Mrs. Burroughs, hearing a noise, arose and opened the back door, when the thieves in their haste to get away dropped one ham. They are known and may save themselves trouble if they come up and settle the matter with Mrs. Burroughs.

While out driving with a carriage of young ladies, Harmon Baynes had a runaway.
Mrs. Sarah Foster, wife of William Foster, died at her home on North Ridge.
Mrs. Douglas McGuire died at the age of 49.

1918
Ralph Gabrielsky, 14-year-old boy south of town, had the index finger on his left hand about cut off at the second joint while at work cutting corn-fodder.
Fred Morgan, son of Mrs. Rose Morgan of Clyde, received a gunshot wound in the left arm in the heavy fighting in France, according to official information received by his mother. He was hospitalized there and it was the third time Fred had been wounded in battle.
Kenneth Luteman, a student at Clyde, was severely injured when he was hit in the eye with a ball.
Rat Gould, well known veteran fiddler, had a narrow escape from serious injury or death. While at work excavating in the cellar at his home, a bank of sand caved in on him and covered him. Luckily Mrs. Gould was nearby and she heard the commotion and called men who were working on Henry Trott's new house across the road, and they came and extricated him. Mr. Gould was considerably bruised and sprained.
Workmen exhumed the bones of four skeletons while excavating for a cellar at the home of Albert Wiedle on North Ridge, the old James Lemmon place, located on a hill. It was believed that the skeletons were those of Indians of an early day.
The roof of the water works building caught fire from an over heated smokestack, but the boys at the plant acted quickly and prevented serious damage to the building.

Improvements in McPherson Cemetery, especially in the land purchased in 1926, were announced by F.A. Mason, member of the cemetery trustees.

George Rohde was badly bruised and his left leg was injured when he fell with a ladder while erecting a sign at the Ben Street garage. The ladder slipped and threw George to the ground where a wire with which he was working, punctured his left leg.
Elgie's Cafe on McPherson Highway was entered by thieves who stole merchandise and food. No value was placed on the stolen property by Mrs. Elgie Mears, proprietor. She said a rear window was forced to gain entrance to the place.

Funeral services were held at the Fiser Funeral Home for Sergeant Keith Coe, the first of Clyde community's war dead to arrive from the European continent.
Mrs. Clarence Beard severely sprained her left ankle and Dr. E.J. Shanahan was called to her home on West Buckeye Street to take care of the injury.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. John Gerrill, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Rathbun, Mr. and Mrs. Elver Van Doren and Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Young; and sons to Mr. and Mrs. Norman Schwochow and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hurlburt.
Local deaths reported were: Mrs. Edward (Nina Chapel) Purdham, 84; Miss Lillie Dell Matz, 65; Atty. James G. Hunt, 89; and Fred Tuckerman, 85.

Fires were reported at Richard Finkler's residence, a house near Mid-States, and at Sherck's Trailer Camp in a trailer owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ray Pesnell.
Two 14-year-old Clyde boys were scheduled to appear in Sandusky County Court for breaking into the filter plant at Whirlpool.
Daughters were born to Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Karbler, Mr. and Mrs. James Taylor, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stahl, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Babcock, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Walters, and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Cooper; and sons to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Rathbun and Mr. and Mrs. James Tyree.

Green Springs School principal Charles Slater announced his retirement. He had been in teaching for 32 years, the last 25 with the Clyde School District.
Mrs. David (Jackie) Brooks, S. Main Street, won $8,200 in the Ohio Lottery's Challenge Game. Her ticket was purchased at the Corner Pharmacy, S. Main Street.

Two students, a 17 year old and a 15 year old, were charged with bomb threats at Clyde Junior and Senior High Schools.
Fire destroyed a barn at the Jeff Maag residence on W. Maple Street.

The death of six-year-old Kole Keller after a two-year battle with cancer sends another waive of grief through the school district as his father, Steve, was the former CHS basketball coach and his mother, Janni, still works at Green Springs School.
Clyde City Manager Dan Weaver expressed dismay about the Sixth District Court of Appeals overturning its earlier decision and now allowing persons with a conceal and carry permit to have guns in Clyde city parks. On April 13, the Sixth District announced it had reversed its earlier decision on Ohioans For Concealed Carry vs. City of Clyde after Ohio legislators expanded the permit law in late 2006. Clyde, later, appealed the ruling the Ohio Supreme Court.
