Library schedules events
The "Let's Talk About It..." Book Discussion for Adults at Bellevue Public Library begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the Meeting Room. Set in Wyoming, Close Stories by Annie Proulx captures the desperation, hard times and beauty of ranch and rural work. The discussion of this collection of stories. Copies of the book are available at the Adult Services Desk.
Bellevue Public Library will host "The Beatles in Cleveland, 1964 and 1966." Experience the uncontrollable hysteria of Beatlemania in this presentation by Dave Schwensen's. Considered one of the wildest concerts in rock history, the Beatles were banned after the 1964 show at Public Hall, but returned for an outdoor concert in 1966. Schwensen recounts memories, behind-the-scene details, and will show never-before published photos. This program begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 16, in the Meeting Room.
Bellevue Public Library's Rappin' Readers Book Club for kids, ages nine-12 will meet on Thursday, Sept. 11 from 4-5 p.m. This month's meeting will feature a discussion about the book, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, by Brian Selznick. When 12-year-old Hugo, an orphan living and repairing clocks within the walls of a Paris train station in 1931, meets a mysterious toy-seller and his god-daughter, his undercover life and his biggest secret are jeopardized. Refreshments will also be served.
