'Oklahoma' still needs men

The cast for "Oklahoma!" is rehearsing regularly at the Bellevue Society for the Arts and the principle roles are filled by really good actors and singers.

However, there is a serious problem.

To present a good show, a certain minimum-sized male chorus for several of the larger numbers is needed. The cast is still short about five to six men.

If you are a man, or if you know any men, or if you are related to any men, please help. It is painless. It is fun. It's for a very good cause.

The chorus doesn't rehearse as often as the rest of the cast. You don't have to be a great singer.

Show organizers say they may be approaching the point where it could prevent them from presenting a very good show, which could force cancellation of "Oklahoma!"

The next rehearsal involving the male chorus is Thursday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m., at the BSA theater, 205 Maple St. Production will be the second and third weekends in October.
