Cynthia Barbarotta, 163 West St., Monroeville, pleaded no contest to passing bad checks, $202 with $100 suspended, five days jail with four suspended, credit for one day served, with conditions.

Mark Czamecki, 58, 200 block of Kilbourne St., Bellevue, was sentenced to prison May 15, for writing checks in another man's name, according to Erie County Common Pleas Court records. Czarneck pleaded guilty to one count each of theft, receiving stolen property and possession of cocaine and to four counts of forgery. In July 2007 Czarnecki signed several checks with the name Ronald Schwerer. As part of the sentence he was ordered to pay $2,000 to the victim.
