Bernadette Overmyer

July 25, 1922 - June 29, 2008

FREMONT -- Bernadette P. Overmyer, 85, of Fremont, died Sunday night, June 29, 2008, at her home.

She was born in Fremont on July 25, 1922, to Joseph and Bertha (Myers) Widman. Bernadette graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School in 1940. She married Gilbert Overmyer on March 6, 1943, in the rectory of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gilbert died on July 7, 2003.

She is survived by her sons, Bernard Overmyer and Chip (Cathy) Overmyer, of Fremont; a daughter-in-law, Jeanie Overmyer, of Lindsey; grandchildren, Jeff Overmyer, of Fremont, Jay (Amanda) Overmyer, of Stokesdale, N.C., Joel, Rachel, Julie and Alesha Overmyer, of Fremont; great-grandchildren, Gretta and Ava Overmyer; sisters, Marie Amor, Ann (Joe) Gottron and Pat Spieldenner, all of Fremont; and a brother, Richard (Janet) Widman, of Fremont.

Bernadette was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert; a son, Joe Overmyer; and brothers, Eugene and Norman Widman.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 S. Arch St., Fremont, with a Rosary starting at 7:30 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont, with Father David Bruning officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Fremont.
