Jan. 31, 1927 - July 1, 2008

CLYDE -- Vera Eberhard, 81, of Clyde, died at the Countryside Continuing Care Center, Fremont, on Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

Miss Eberhard was born on Jan. 31, 1927, in Bellevue, Ohio, to the late Roy M. and Anna M. (Mackling) Eberhard.

She was a member of the 1945 graduating class of the former Thompson High School, rural Bellevue; and St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clyde, and the Clyde Senior Center.

Vera had worked at the former Akron Candy Co.; the former Zehners Packing Co., in Bellevue; and retired from the Countryside Continuing Care Center.

Survivors include two nephews, Eugene L. (Nancy) Mills, of Fremont, and William (Susan) Mills, of Vermilion; and Patricia Mills, widow of her deceased nephew, Kenneth O. Mills, Fremont; and a niece, Sharon (William) Covert, Bellevue. Twelve great-nephews and nieces; 19 great-great-nieces and nephews; six step-great-great-nieces and nephews and two great-great-great-nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceding Vera in death were a brother, Albert Eberhard, in 1955; a sister, Eva L. Mills, in 1990; and a brother-in-law, Harry O. Mills, in 1982. Her nephew, Kenneth O. Mills, died in May 2007.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 3, from 9 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, West Forest Street, Clyde, with the Rev. Gerry Gosnell officiating. Burial will be in the Bellevue Cemetery.
