Vernon E. Brown

April 13, 1935 - June 27, 2008

Vernon E. Brown, age 73, of Sandusky Co. Rd. 175, Bellevue, passed away Friday, June 27, 2008, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky.

Vernon was born April 13, 1935, in Whitesburg, Ky., the son of the late Robert and Angeline (Adams) Brown Sr.

He retired in 1997 from Ford Motor Company so he could spend more time with his children and grandchildren. He was a hardworking and devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and UAW Local 1216.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Bobbie (Hamilton) Brown, who he married March 23, 1936, in Whitesburg, Ky.; loving son, Stephen (Fran) Brown, of Martin, Ohio; precious daughters, Deborah Christman, of Sandusky, Jennifer (Craig) Rathbun, of Huron, and Andrea (Adam) Thomas, of Findlay; his adoring grandchildren, Julia, Brent, Bryan, Taylor, Austin, Oliver, Aubrey; great-grandson, Elijah; brothers, Mark (Mary Lou) Brown, of Fostoria, Donald (Trudy) Brown, of Tiffin, Bill (Norma) Brown, of Westland, Mich., and Robert Brown Jr., of Taylor, Mich.; and sisters, Loretta (Chan) Combs, of Tiffin, and Pauline (Paul) Caudill, of Taylor, Mich.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Nicolas Vernon "Nic" Brown; four brothers and three sisters.

Friends will be received today (Monday, June 30,) from 3-7 p.m. at the Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.

A funeral service, conducted by the Rev. Wally Seibel, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bellevue Cemetery.
