Knights thankful for Measure-Up help
To the editor:
Initially, please accept my apologies for the delay in publication of this letter. It is inexcusable. Regardless of the circumstances, the amount of thankfulness and sincerity for each and every contribution remains the same.
The Bellevue Knights of Columbus extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed their time and effort towards a record-breaking 2008 "Measure-Up" campaign. Thanks to each and every solicitor for donation of your time. To Hogue's, Bassett's, CVS Pharmacy, Miller's Drive-In, and Bellevue Community Center for allowing the campaign on your premises. To Christie Lane School/Industries for providing the poster boards displayed at each collection site. And I mustn't forget to say, "Thanks Mom," for assisting with the money-counting duties.
This year, the council also sponsored a "Measure-Up" fund-raiser designed to increase education and advocacy for "persons with intellectual disabilities." Gratitude beyond words to the BSA, Jimy Foreman, and the cast of Noises Off for presenting an encore performance in benefit of the campaign. Thanks to Cathy Barclay, BSA marketing director, for her excellent advice and assistance. Much appreciation to my co-chairs, Jen Swicker, Christie Lane School and Industries, and Deb Sidell, School of Hope/Sandco, for their dedication and professionalism.
Last, but most significant, sincerest appreciation to the general public for "opening up your hearts" to help us support our local and area "persons with intellectual disabilities."
