Mr. & Mrs. Robert Fields celebrate 50 years
Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Fields, 7870 Main St., Flat Rock, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on June 21.
Mr. Fields and the former Patty Sawyers were married in Bellevue at the Nazarene Church. The late Rev. William Thorpe officiated. Bridal attendant was the groom's sister, Thresea Garman and the groom's attendant was the bride's brother, the late Harold Sawyers. Parents of the couple are the late Joseph and Thresea Fields and the late Woodrow and Zella Sawyers.
The couple are the parents of two children, Joseph (Joyce) Fields, Bellevue and Roberta (Robert) Linder, Powder Springs, Georgia. They have one grandson, Grant and a step-grandson, Shawn (Ashley) Hinds. They also have a step-great-grandson, Brody Hinds.
Mr. Fields is retired from Whirlpool Cooperation and Mrs. Fields worked at General Electric until its closing, retiring from Pechiney Packaging.
The Fields and close friends Robert and Gail Weller celebrated both of their anniversaries with a trip to the Mia Riviera in Mexico. While they were there, they visited the Mayan Ruins, went sight-seeing and soaked up a lot of sun!
They will have a small celebration when their daughter and son-in-law come home in July.
